From the National Center for Learning Disabilities:
Early this year, Congress cut $2.5 billion from federal education funding, including $579 million from special education (IDEA Part B). This is money that states use to pay for special education services, such as those provided by IEPs. Congress is meeting right now to decide whether to cut even more from special education for the next nine years. Your child's education and the education of countless other children is at stake.
